| August 2007 The Eldred World War II Museum announces Saturday WWII Movie Matinees during the month of August. The shows will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a cartoon and newsreel before the featured movie. The Museum is located at 201 Main Street in Eldred, PA and admission is free. August 4 Go For Broke The film dramatizes the storied 442nd Regimental Combat Team. The 442nd was composed of second generation Japanese-Americans who had to overcome prejudice and great obstacles in the service of their Country – America. The unit was highly decorated for its service and sacrifice in Europe. August 11 Gung Ho Gung Ho tells the story of the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion which was formed to free Japanese controlled islands. The movie tells the story of their formation and first mission – Main Island. August 18 Three Came Home Japanese Prisoner-of-War camps weren’t just for men. Three Came Home tells the story of Agnes Newton Keith’s imprisonment from 1941 through the end of WWII. August 25 Hell In Normandy The D-Day landing will be coming soon, but there is a German flame thrower on Omaha Beach. A double agent and parachute unit go into action to remove the threat.
