The Eldred World War II Museum
The Gallery of Valor is one of the newest features of the museum. Officially opened on Veterans Day, 2006. this portion of the museum previously housed the library.
The Gallery of Valor features seven sub-sections: Training, Shipping and Transportation, the U.S. Navy in Action, North Africa-Sicily-Italy,

Sabotage and the Spy War, the Eastern Front and D-Day: Omaha Beach. Some highlights
of the room include American infantry rifles, a model of the CV-8 Hornet aircraft carrier
used as a launching point for the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, the Office of Strategic
Services in Greece, Medals of Valor and The Life of a Soldier. Two monitors run video
and slide shows depicting the U.S. Navy in Action and the Eastern Front. The Woman's
Auxiliary Army Corps is also featured in the Gallery of Valor.
