Peter Loth, who is on the Eldred World War II Museums Board of Directors, is
an author and popular international speaker who carries a message of
forgiveness and reconciliation between nations, cultures, families, and
individuals. He has appeared on television and radio teaching about the
Holocaust and sharing his story of forgiveness.
Peter grew up in post WWII Poland, knowing very little about his past. As an
adult, even the few details he thought he understood about his life began to
unravel. With the help of the American Red Cross, Peter discovered a piece of
his past that would change everything – he had been in Stutthof Concentration
Camp. Peter begins his testimony by sharing photographs and factual
information about the Holocaust. He weaves his story into that background by
taking us on a painful journey back to his childhood full of abuse, loneliness and
hatred. He tells of going back to his birthplace – 60 years later – to what is now
the Stutthof Museum, where he wrestled with his anger and bitterness until God
broke in. There, Peter learned how to give and receive forgiveness, which
transformed his life and brought him the peace for which he had been
searching.
Peter has recently written his story with Sandra Kellogg Rath in the published
book, “Peace by Piece, a Story of Survival and Forgiveness.” It’s a compelling
a memoir which allows the reader to walk along with Peter, allowing us to see
his life through his eyes.
