The Eldred World War II Museum
The Lower Level takes visitors on a walk through
time using a combination of artifacts and
information.  The contents of the room are
arranged as a time-line, starting with the end of
World War I. Areas covered are the rise of Hitler
and Mussolini. the Wermacht, the German Home
Front, the Battle of Britain, Pearl Harbor, Japanese
Imperialism, the Eastern Front and the American
Home Front.
Specific items of interest in the Lower Level include a German STG. 44, the first assault
rifle, Russian uniforms, a large map of Pearl Harbor showing visitors where each ship was
situated at the time of the attack, a Japanese sword and flag, children's games from 1940s
America and a diorama depicting the Battle of Kursk, the largest armoured battle in human
history.  Other items include German and Japanese weapons, American shoulder patches
and soil from Stalingrad.
